TOYZ CONCEPT PAPER
Play nice.
-DESCRIPTION-
This is an ambitious and innovative project but is surely possible (not easy) to materialize.
-TOPIC-
Alex
and Dimitri's toy armies have been battling it out since they can
remember. Both households have specific resources and territories the
other toy army is after, thus both Alex and Dimitri have recruited kids
and their armies from around the block as their allies in hopes of
toppling the other. It is time for the greatest campaign of toy
massacre and fortification construction since the beginning of time.
Well, at least since Dimitri moved in from across Alex.
-GOAL-
None!
TOYZ is a sandbox editor, allowing players to create and attempt
whatever goal with their toys they have in mind, whether that be
survivng a zombie apocalypse, preventing newbourne kittens from being
turned into monsters of war or just simply ravaging a base carefully
constructed by your friend or just met acquiantance.
One house
will have its rooms divided into editable levels. The game world itself
cannot be altered, instead entities (objects) and logic will be used to
add interactivity, parameters, and goals.
-DEVELOPMENT-
The ransom structure may be an optimal way to finance this, as I believe there would be great interest.
-CLASSES-
Classes
are characters players directly control. This may be an action figure,
toy tank, &c.. These are two distinct types of classes, soldiers
(bipedals (action figures, such as painted army men and zombies)) and
vehicles (as in toy tanks and helicopters).
-SOLDIERS-
Soldiers refers to bipedals.
+ZOMBIES+
Zombies
have a very special special ability, when they kill a soldier it may
become a zombie, allowing their numbers to multiply exponentially.
Alone, these slow masses of cannon fodder pose little threat, but in a
large group are a considerable threat to your stationary defenses. Next
to army men, the basic workhorse of any mobile army.
+KNIGHTS+
Very
hearty and very slow, knights can easily destroy pretty much anything
they can get close to. Good for slicing and dicing a horde of zombies.
+WIZARDS+
A
different category all themselves, wizards' spells are very hard to
master, but once you have, you become a very formidable force, somehow
magically destroying everything.
+PAINTED ARMY MAN+
A dedicated
hobbyist has breathed life into this endearing soldier, allowing it to
be free of its plastic base and move around, fulfilling roles the
stationary plastic ones can't.
-VEHICLES-
Lists specific classes that aren't bipedals.
+Trojan Piņata+
Capacity: Two Individually Operated Laser Projecting Eyes, Passengers
Witty
Description: True to its name, the trojan piņata is a mass of armor,
weaponry, and candy that specializes in transporting a mass of smaller
classes.
-WEAPONS-
Class specific weapons.
+Vacuum Blunderbuss+
Witty
Description: Low on ammunition? Don't be! Use this terrifying beast to
suck up various items - glass shards, splinters, a volatile mix of dog
feces and battery acid, anything, really - and then project them out at
mutilating speeds.
+Pen+
Witty Description: Great for writing
and disemboweling, what a combo! The capped end also makes a mean
thump. So... the pen or the sword?
+Toothpick+
Witty Description: A crude and ineffective weapon on its own, a toothpick is often fired as ammunition or used to make ramparts.
-PASSIVE OBJECTS-
brightly colored blocks and other things you would find around a house for generic fortifying and construction,
-(INTER)ACTIVE OBJECTS-
+Toy Soldier+
These
will be in various poses, each corresponding to a specific weapon or
action that can be transported and place by players with certain
vehicles.
